I have always wanted to start a separate category to photograph teenagers (both guys and girls). Called “Beautiful YOU!”, the idea behind this is more than a portfolio shoot ~ its to help teens grow in their confidence and understand that no matter who they are, there is beauty within them and if they understand that, it will radiate outwards. Kind of fits with my Wabi~Sabi philosophy that I so love ~ meaning, very simply – “finding beauty in imperfection!”. We are all human, we are all imperfect and yet we all have something beautiful about us. My aim is to find your beauty.
I enjoy playing around with different textures and backgrounds as well as working with composites.
I have wanted to photograph Jess for ages. Finally, her Mom and I said “lets do it!” and we did! A gentle, sweet, beautiful girl inside and out. We played around a bit with portrait-style shots and then I tried out a few images so I could work with composites. I like the one I’ve titled “set me free” the best. So much fun to do. Thanks Jess and Lolo xxx
When I got a WhatsApp from my dear friend Karen to say she was sitting with a very irrational mother-to-be (her sister) and would I be free for a quick preggyy shoot in the next day or two, I jumped at the chance. After all, is there anything more beautiful than an expectant mom, glowing with happiness (and bursting from the seams lol!!).
Shortly after that, Su-Jana lastminute.com’d me and we decided to go for it. Cos, seriously, preggy fairies are just fabulous. Despite looking pretty poppable, Su was game for anything I suggested. Gunther too was happy to lend a hand and go along with whatever ideas we had. So a tractor or two, a menagerie of farm animals, a forest at the beautiful Michaelhouse, long, swaying brown grasses and a railway line and bobs your auntie ~ lots of pretty pregginess!!!
With not long to go, Su-Yana was amazingly agile all things considered. Take a peak and……watch this space. Can’t wait to meet this little miracle in the flesh soon (so to speak). Su – hang in there – tickety tock. Thank you for being such a fun mom-to-be and wishing both of you all the best in the days to come with little Hugo man.
Wedding Photography KZN – Providence Country Estate
Well hello there Mr & Mrs Muir. Blog is finally up with a selection of my favorite images from your absolutely gorgeous wedding day. Hard to choose as there was a lot of choice.
Providence had to be one of the loveliest of the lovely wedding venues available in the Midlands area. From the moment I went through to do my recce (having never shot there before),meeting with Fern and Bonnie and just getting a general feel for the location – I knew it was going to be a visual feast.
I am lucky to able to say that I have never had a Bridezilla whilst shooting weddings. Each and every one of my brides has been a pleasure to work with. Megan & Chris stepped it up a notch. Both incredibly warm, kind people – I felt I was photographing an old friends wedding. A picture of calm, as serene as a sun-lit swan (ha ha), Meggles absolutely took everything in her stride and honestly seemed to just make the most of every minute.
Lots of laughter, lots of good food, a radiant bride and an emotional groom. A padre with a huge sense of humor and a penguin slide down the bed ~ lets hope these photographs tell the story of a truly special wedding day.
CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU TWO LOVELY PEOPLE – MEGAN & CHRIS – THANK YOU FOR TRUSTING ME WITH YOUR MEMORIES ♥
